Ekaterina Salinger

My name is Ekaterina or Ekat which is my Aussie nickname. I live in a tropical paradise Brisbane, Australia and my biggest obsession is cakes and chocolate. I had a successful corporate career in marketing and sales in the foodservice sector working for big companies like Cadbury, Heineken and Nestle. During my career I was involved with a lot of chefs and pastry chefs but a true passion for chocolate art and pastry was developed when I started making first cakes 6 years ago as a hobby.

I was getting a lot of comments complimenting the taste and design. And because I loved creating, this activity was ticking all boxes. Two years later I quit my sales career and dedicated myself to my true calling. I’m mostly self taught and my best techniques I developed by experimenting. I dare to think outside the square and embrace new trends and flavours. I pair my passion for creativity & joy with my gastronomical know-how and eye for detail.

I’m a believer that pastry is an art, you must have a real passion, a strong interest and love for the craft. In March 2020 Ekat’s Online Academy was launched. Over 3000 students across the globe have enrolled in my academy since. My classes are aiming to empower, guide and share unique techniques in cake design, wafer paper flower art and chocolate work for beginners and professionals. To be a leader in this demanding industry you need to constantly upgrade your knowledge, reading, experimenting and learning new things.
